RitcheyRacer RaceReview
OPMC District 27 AMA Race 4-1-2007
Completely packed up,RitcheyRacer Rig was shiny clean and sporting new graphics, bikes loaded and we're heading for Gold Star races at Washougal. We hadn't been to Washougal since last season and we were all looking forward to a really fun 5 hour drive and lots of racing, when the call came in.....
Washougal was cancelled, Saturday practice and Sunday's races! So we were ready to go, but where? Albany, OR was racing (6 hour drive), Spokane, WA was racing and running LL qualifiers (6 hour drive), and Port Angeles, WA was racing (1/2 hour ferry ride and 1 hour drive). So we sucked up our dissapointment and headed to Port Angeles for a cold, but dry day of racing.
Team RitcheyRacer stayed at the top of the pack all weekend and had a terrific time. Our newest friends, made a great Pit Crew. Thank you Harlan and Briana, you guys figured out the program AND kept us in laughs all weekend.
Women's D was a battle in the first moto, with Sammi Denham #713 and Miychael Sizemore #911 battling for 1st place, when Sammi made the pass in the last lap. Miychael showed a little more dominance in the second moto and held her place finishing 1st, for an overall 1st place.
Shawna Serfling #215 took a smooth 2nd place in her Women's B - C class. Shawna's greatest asset is her consistent riding style. She is going to be the one to watch in 2007!
Pro Class, Torre Streifthau, raced against himself (no other pro's showed up), starting 5 seconds after the B" class's top riders which included RitcheyRacer's rider, Jake Anstett #74, Avery Rogers and Ricky Albee #72. Those guys had a terrific race. And Torre, "We can't wait to see you in real action" Oh and "Did you have FUN?"????
Albee's seat fell off in the first lap of the 250 B class and he rode better than ever without it. I remember hearing the announcer say...... "Two weeks ago Albee's dad lost his finger and this week Albee lost his seat."
125 C and BTH rider, Josh Greenough #193 raced his first race since breaking his Fibia at practice in Riverdale, back in January. Josh was very competitive and kept up on his game all weekend.
StupidShawnAward............. you know who you are! If someone else, besides you loaded and/or unloaded your bike more than 5 times this weekend. You win! Guess What?????? We love you anyway!
Other news:
Khylar comes home this weekend! He's been gone for 2 months. After Texas Nationals he stayed in CA to practice for a few weeks.

Kristine Wright #282, made the area qualifiers for LL, in Spokane this week.
